Librarian (Malayalee Preferred)

The City Library in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing reference and research assistance to patrons, and overseeing daily operations.

• Develop, maintain and organize the library's collection of books, magazines, audiovisual materials and electronic resources
• Assist patrons with locating materials and provide research support for their inquiries
• Plan and implement programs and events to promote literacy and encourage library use
• Manage the circulation of materials, including checking items in/out, collecting fines/fees, and keeping records of inventory
• Train and supervise library staff in daily operations and customer service techniques
• Maintain the library's physical space by shelving materials, cleaning shelves/tables/chairs, and ensuring a quiet study environment for patrons
• Stay current with industry trends and new technologies to enhance library services

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a library setting
• Fluent in English (additional language skills are a plus)
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patrons of all ages and backgrounds

We offer a competitive salary of 1300$ per month along with accommodation, free visa sponsorship, and round-trip ticket. This position is open to all nationalities but preference will be given to Malayalee candidates.
