- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the KS1 curriculum and translate curriculum requirements into effective learning outcomes.
- Teach using appropriate syllabus content, materials, and schemes of work.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons appropriate to the full ability range within the class.
- Develop effective long-term, medium-term, and short-term sequences of learning that address individual pupil needs.
- Deliver creative and enjoyable lessons that challenge pupils and encourage critical thinking.
- Organise classroom provision, learning resources, and displays to create a positive and stimulating environment.
- Observe and assess pupils in accordance with school assessment requirements.
- Reflect on classroom provision, lessons delivered, and progress achieved to improve subsequent teaching.
- Adjust planning, learning environments, and curriculum provision according to evidence of pupil development.
- Support KS1 leaders in strengthening teaching and learning across the key stage.
- Differentiate classroom teaching to meet the needs of SEN, POD, EAL, and gifted and talented pupils while maintaining appropriate expectations for achievement.
- Work with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required to address diverse learning needs.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, confidence, independence, and meaningful academic progress across different abilities.
Use curriculum objectives and assessment evidence to plan coherent learning experiences and identify appropriate next steps for pupils. Monitor progress carefully and adjust classroom provision where additional support or challenge is required. Support consistent curriculum development across Key Stage 1 by collaborating with leaders and colleagues on teaching approaches, resources, assessment, and learning priorities.
Digital and Flexible LearningUse appropriate online technologies and digital resources to support modern teaching and enhance classroom learning. Facilitate face-to-face, hybrid, and distance learning when required and adapt teaching approaches to maintain effective pupil participation and progress.
Wider Professional Responsibilities- Participate in curriculum action groups and contribute to planning, assessment, resources, and relevant special events.
- Support the organization and delivery of school events, outings, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding pupil achievement and well-being.
- Work professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for continuing professional development and strengthening teaching practice.
- Contribute positively to the wider educational life of Muna British Academy.
- Bachelor 's Degree in Primary Education or a Bachelor 's degree with a mandatory postgraduate teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent in Primary Education.
- Minimum 1 year of experience teaching the England National Curriculum in a similar role.
- Mandatory experience teaching the England National Curriculum in a primary setting.
- Experience working with EAL students.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
- IT literacy and familiarity with online technologies that support modern teaching.
