Slickline Operations Manager – ADNOC Drilling – Abu Dhabi, UAE

Position Overview:

ADNOC Drilling is seeking an experienced Slickline Operations Manager to lead and manage slickline service operations across drilling and well intervention activities. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality slickline services while ensuring compliance with ADNOC operational standards, client requirements, and international HSE practices. The position also involves overseeing field teams, supporting well operations, managing equipment and tender processes, and maintaining strong client relationships within the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage slickline service operations to ensure safe, timely, and efficient delivery of well intervention services.
  • Support field teams and ensure operational readiness of slickline crews and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, operational manuals, and work instructions for slickline operations.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC and client HSE policies through regular safety audits and field inspections.
  • Conduct safety meetings, organize HSE training sessions, and promote a strong safety culture across operations teams.
  • Participate in accident investigations and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with clients to plan and execute slickline operations according to contractual requirements.
  • Prepare and submit technical tender documents for slickline service contracts.
  • Support the introduction and evaluation of new slickline technologies and specialized tools.
  • Provide technical guidance for complex operations such as fishing jobs, well interventions, and rigless operations.
  • Manage equipment procurement, including surface and downhole tools, according to project requirements.
  • Oversee manufacturing processes for specialized tools and coordinate third-party inspections and certifications.
  • Monitor operational costs and budgets using SAP and ensure efficient cost management.
  • Prepare invoices and ensure supporting documentation such as daily service reports and activity sheets are completed.
  • Develop annual budgets and long‑term business plans for slickline operations.
  • Supervise staff performance, conduct annual appraisals, and coordinate recruitment with human resources.
  • Ensure all personnel meet competency and training requirements including HSE certifications.
  • Monitor equipment certification, inspection schedules, and spare parts availability to maintain operational readiness.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the drilling or oil and gas industry.
  • Strong experience in slickline operations, well completion, fishing operations, and rig or rigless well interventions.
  • Experience managing field teams, operational planning, and client service delivery in drilling environments.
  • Strong knowledge of oilfield equipment, downhole tools, and slickline technologies.
  • Experience preparing technical tenders, managing operational budgets, and coordinating procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP systems for operational reporting and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills in English.
