Responsible for managing the implementation and delivery of Building Information Modelling (BIM) across a large-scale roads, utilities, and urban infrastructure project. Oversees BIM standards, model coordination, digital workflows, and information management, ensuring collaboration between design, construction, and project controls teams while supporting efficient project delivery, clash detection, and compliance with client and industry BIM requirements.
Responsibilities- BIM Manager will review the deliverables of the existing design and construction team during project implementation.
- Implement all BIM requirements for each project, including preparing/reviewing the BIM Execution Plan, LOD Matrix, modelling methodology, coordination strategy, collaboration and exchange timeframe, file format, and other requirements; communicate to all consultants and contractors.
- Audit design & construction models to ensure consistency, assess information attached to geometry for scheduling and BOQs, detect overlaps or duplicates, warnings, file sizes, over‑modelling, etc.; perform audit at each submission from consultants and/or contractors, reducing utility clashes, identifying potential problems, and ensuring accurate scheduling and BOQs.
- Coordinate BIM activities among the lead design consultant, other consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to integrate and align digital models with program and construction requirements; monitor model development progress, identify integration gaps, support multidisciplinary coordination, and ensure BIM outputs support project design and delivery objectives.
- Attend and support coordination meetings with consultants.
- Provide direct support to the project team in extracting information from the model or for visualization purposes.
- Review reports of utility clashes, BOQs, and material specification extraction from the BIM model.
- Explain models, sections, and clashes to the client using Rivert and AutoCAD 360.
- Attend technical coordination workshops to gather information for developing a tailored project BIM strategy.
- Review BIM protocols and any other required BIM documentation to ensure successful implementation.
- Audit and review documentation such as BIM models, BIM Execution Plan, and related documents against established BIM standards and protocols, ensuring a smooth transition between design, construction, and operation phases and all team members.
- Comply with relevant quality, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies, manuals, and procedures within Hill International.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor, including occasional drafting work in support of PMC activities.
- BSc degree in civil engineering.
- 10+ years of experience across all phases of BIM management.
- At least 3 recent years in a similar position within a PMC team.
- Fully conversant with modern BIM software specifically Civil 3D.
- Fully conversant with Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements.
- Good communication skills, able to compose and explain complex issues concisely to different audiences.
- Excellent team working skills, motivated and productive attitude.
- Ability to prioritize and undertake a range of tasks with a positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn.
