ADNOC Group is seeking an experienced Cathodic Protection Technician in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to supervise and perform cathodic protection monitoring, inspection, troubleshooting and system upgrading activities. The role focuses on maintaining the continuous and effective operation of CP systems, monitoring pipeline protection performance and identifying conditions that could contribute to corrosion. Candidates should have at least five years of relevant cathodic protection experience within the Oil and Gas industry.

The Cathodic Protection Technician will supervise and carry out monitoring, upgrading and inspection activities to ensure cathodic protection equipment and systems continue to function effectively. The position involves reviewing work requirements, inspecting and troubleshooting CP systems, monitoring electrical protection parameters and assessing coating deterioration to support reliable corrosion protection across piping systems.

• Review daily work orders, establish priorities according to production requirements and assign tasks to support timely service delivery to operating units.
• Review documentation and drawings for new cathodic protection projects and provide recommendations to ensure operational requirements are accurately incorporated.
• Supervise and perform cathodic protection inspections and troubleshooting in accordance with applicable operating standards and procedures.
• Supervise contractor installation and commissioning of cathodic protection systems to ensure compliance with company standards and specifications.
• Monitor and interpret IR drop and on-off potential measurements for cathodic protection systems.
• Conduct piping surveys using close interval potential measurement.
• Identify non-conformances and promptly report them to the appropriate superior for corrective action.
• Monitor pipe-to-soil potential according to the predetermined schedule for all cathodic protection systems.
• Determine optimal power requirements for cathodic protection purposes.
• Monitor and review coating and wrapping deterioration trends to maintain effective cathodic protection and minimize piping corrosion.
• Produce computerized trends covering potential and current drainage.
• Monitor cathodic protection performance trends to support continuous and reliable operations.
