The Drilling Supervisor is responsible for controlling operational activities associated with drilling, workover, and well completion programs on an assigned rig. The position involves directing contractor activities, supervising specialist oilfield services, coordinating equipment and material requirements, and ensuring that field operations comply with approved programs and safety procedures. The supervisor also evaluates changing operational conditions and recommends appropriate adjustments to maintain safe and effective drilling and well intervention activities.
JobSpecific Accountabilities
- Supervise the execution of approved drilling, workover, and well completion programs on the assigned rig.
- Direct and coordinate operational activities performed by drilling contractors and specialist service companies.
- Monitor drilling and well intervention activities to ensure compliance with approved operational requirements.
- Recommend and implement amendments to drilling and workover programs when changing operational conditions require adjustments.
- Oversee the implementation of operational instructions and maintain coordination between rig personnel and service providers.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure activities are conducted in accordance with relevant contractual provisions.

- Ensure drilling and workover operations comply with ADNOC Group health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Monitor activities within the rig site and camp area for compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
- Oversee safe working practices during drilling, completion, and well intervention activities.
- Coordinate rig mobilization and site preparation while protecting existing company facilities.
- Verify that relevant operational activities follow established safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain oversight of contractor activities to support safe and controlled field operations.
- Receive designated well locations from field operations personnel and coordinate their handover to drilling contractors.
- Supervise site preparation activities before rig mobilization.
- Monitor rig movement and positioning to ensure the safety of company facilities.
- Oversee relevant well plugging activities.
- Verify the proper installation and fitting of Christmas tree accessories.
- Ensure well sites are appropriately leveled and fenced according to operational requirements.
- Coordinate site activities with field operations personnel and contractors.
- Supervise the supply and distribution of company materials and equipment required for rig operations.
- Monitor material consumption to support economical and cost-effective utilization.
- Coordinate equipment availability with contractors and relevant supply personnel.
- Review material requirements associated with drilling, workover, and completion activities.
- Maintain oversight of equipment and material usage during assigned rig operations.
The Drilling Supervisor prepares daily drilling and workover reports covering operational activities completed during the preceding 24 hours. Reports must summarize rig activities, operational progress, and associated costs. The position also involves monitoring expenditure related to assigned operations and supporting the efficient use of materials, equipment, and contracted services within the approved financial budget.
Minimum Qualifications- Diploma in Engineering.
