Purpose
The Health & Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are carried out in full compliance with the project’s HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The role supports the Construction Manager and Senior HSE Engineer by monitoring safety performance, implementing safety procedures, conducting audits and inspections, and promoting a culture of safety across the project.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular HSE audits and site inspections to ensure full compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
- Perform risk assessments and support the development and implementation of appropriate control measures.
- Review and endorse Contractors’ HSE Plans, Procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for alignment with contractual obligations.
- Monitor daily construction activities to verify adherence to approved safety standards and safe work practices.
- Assess the adequacy and competency of Contractors’ safety personnel and evaluate the effectiveness of their safety training programs.
- Review Contractors’ safety documentation and verify that major construction equipment is properly maintained and certified.
- Ensure consistent implementation of the Company’s HSE policies and requirements across all site operations.
- Identify safety non-conformities, issue formal reports, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in project safety meetings, coordination sessions, and HSE performance reviews.
- Support incident and accident investigations and prepare comprehensive reports with recommended corrective actions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BSc) or higher.
- Minimum 12 years of total experience, including at least 8 years in safety engineering roles within similar construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Proven experience in construction site safety inspections, compliance audits, and risk management.
- Strong understanding of equipment safety, emergency response, and safety documentation.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Ability to enforce safety requirements professionally and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with ADNOC procedures, industry standards, and safety regulations is highly desirable.
- Available in UAE / Immediate joiners preferred
