Job Overview

Specialist responsible for overseeing marine operations and safety at islands, ensuring oil export loading on time and compliance with international and local conventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage tanker berthing and loading schedules.
  • Monitor Marine Contractors during day and night shifts to ensure safe operations.
  • Issue and control necessary documentation for tanker mooring and loading.
  • Coordinate with contractors for implementation of safety rules and to stop loading in adverse conditions.
  • Prepare and review marine procedures, standing instructions and working criteria for terminal and jetty.
  • Guide and support emergency operations (pollution, rescue, firefighting, oil spill).
  • Review and maintain contractor records for the Oil Spill Team and training plans.
  • Verify technical aspects of marine contracts and ensure proper execution.
  • Prepare detailed expenditure plans, review budgets, create release and purchase orders, and verify invoices.
  • Process service entry sheets in SAP.
  • Act as a member of the Port Users Advisory Committee (PUAC).
  • Lead internal and external marine audits and implement remedial actions.
  • Support training of UAE nationals in all marine operations trades.
  • Monitor KPIs of contracted services and prioritize maintenance work.
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders and attend formal risk assessments.
  • Provide marine advice for offshore terminal development projects.
  • Ensure maintenance of DAMS and Aids to Navigation and manage records.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Support planned preventive maintenance to minimize interruptions.
  • Arrange third‑party inspections and coordinate with class certification societies.
  • Prepare master plans for tanker berthing hose replacement and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Marine Warranty Services, Marine Offshore Operations, Towage, Anchor Handling and Dynamic Positioning (familiarity).
  • Familiarity with company operational areas is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English.
