As a Principal Algorithm Developer - L1 Simulation
, you will serve as a technical authority for waveform and modem algorithm architecture, simulation, optimization, and system integration. You will collaborate closely with architects, hardware designers, DSP engineers, and system teams to deliver world-class communication solutions.
- Design and optimize waveform algorithms to maximize bandwidth efficiency
, SNR
, robustness
, and error resilience
. - Develop core PHY algorithms for modulation/demodulation, error correction, channel estimation, equalization, synchronization
, and frequency offset correction
. - Explore and evaluate advanced DSP techniques for improved spectral efficiency, reliability, and performance across diverse wireless communication systems.
- Simulate and validate waveform algorithms using MATLAB, Simulink, Python
, or equivalent tools. - Conduct detailed performance testing across complex channel models (fading, noise, interference, Doppler, mobility).
- Benchmark PHY/L1 algorithms using metrics such as BER, SNR, throughput, spectral efficiency
, and implementation complexity.
- Optimize algorithms for real-time deployment on FPGA, DSP, and ASIC platforms.
- Evaluate computational requirements, memory footprint, pipeline structures, and architectural trade-offs.
- Support hardware teams during FPGA/DSP implementation and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with waveform architects, hardware teams, embedded software developers, and system engineers to integrate algorithms into full modem solutions.
- Participate in system-level design reviews, code reviews, and collaborative troubleshooting sessions.
- Contribute to end-to-end L1 modem architecture discussions, ensuring high-quality, scalable algorithm design.
- Produce high-quality documentation for algorithm design, simulation methodology, performance analysis, and integration procedures.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for engineering leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and algorithm developers.
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science
, or a related field;
Ph.D. strongly preferred
. - 12+ years of experience developing algorithms for wireless communication modems (5G, WiFi, WiMAX, SDR, tactical radio, or similar systems).
- Deep understanding of wireless communication standards
, PHY‑layer protocols, and modern waveform technologies. - Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
, C++,
Python
, or equivalent algorithm development tools. - Strong expertise in DSP algorithm implementation and optimization.
- Proven experience with hardware‑oriented implementation on FPGA, DSP, or ASIC platforms.
- Strong knowledge of communication channel models (fading, interference, noise) and modem performance metrics.
- Demonstrated success working in cross‑functional engineering environments and contributing to large‑scale system integration efforts.
