The Design Lead (Electrical – DC) shall be responsible for reviewing and executing engineering activities related to Solar PV Power Plants, including:
- Generation estimates
- Overall plant layout
- DC SLD preparation
- Solar module selection
- Inverter sizing
- SMB design
- Earthing layouts
- Cable sizing calculations
The role includes facilitating BIM modellers in developing 3D BIM models for Solar PV plants and coordinating with multiple departments (Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, MEP, etc.) for inter‑disciplinary checks.
The Design Lead supports engineering activities across the full project lifecycle—from pre‑bid engineering to commissioning and warranty support
, including coordination with site teams.
The individual will lead a team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons
, ensuring engineering delivery within budget, on schedule, and with high quality.
- Review documents prepared by the Engineering Office (India) and explain them to local contractors for site execution.
- Ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents.
- Review drawings and sizing calculations prepared by Design Engineers and Draughts Persons.
- Review vendor engineering deliverables.
- Check deliverables such as:
- Cable routing layout
- Cable tray layout
- Earthing layout
- Lightning protection layout
- Coordinate with OEM engineers and civil contractors during installation and construction.
- Coordinate with Uzbekistan local consultants for design adaptation works.
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines for inter‑departmental checks.
- Provide support and clarifications to the Site Execution team.
- Coordinate with Operations team for design approvals.
- Collect project inputs (plot details, feeder arrangements, GA drawings) from clients, PEM, and vendors.
- Conduct pre‑award vendor evaluations (technical compliance).
- Submit validation documents to Supply Chain Management.
- Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after validation.
- Clarify design‑related issues to the Site Execution team.
- Estimate and plan man‑hour requirements.
- Submit man‑hour requirements for design and drawing review activities.
- Review BOQ and provide technical clarifications to the Contracts team.
- Capable of multitasking and delivering multiple outputs on time.
The Design Lead (Electrical DC) must possess:
Solar PV Engineering Knowledge- Strong understanding of Solar PV Power Plant design.
- Expertise in:
- Generation estimation
- Overall plant layout
- DC SLD preparation
- Solar module selection
- Inverter sizing
- SMB design
- Earthing layouts
- Cable sizing calculations
- Knowledge of national and international codes and standards.
- Understanding of interdisciplinary interfaces (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Instrumentation).
- Ability to interpret contractual technical requirements and support project teams accordingly.
