POWERTECHis a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.

Purpose

The Advanced Inspection Engineer II supports Powertech’s propulsion programs (turbofan, microjet, piston engines) by executing inspection engineering activities during NPI and FAI phases. This role develops and validates inspection methods, supports FAI package execution, and contributes to inspection readiness for serial production handover.

The role works closely with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, EPI, suppliers, and equipment vendors to ensure inspection systems are capable, repeatable, and aligned with program requirements.

Key Responsibilities Inspection Method Execution & Support
  • Support development and validation of inspection methods for complex propulsion components and assemblies.
  • Assist in CMM programming, inspection planning, and measurement setup.
  • Execute inspection activities for prototypes and early production parts under guidance from Senior Engineer.
NPI & FAI Support
  • Support FAI execution, including measurement data collection, inspection reporting, and documentation.
  • Assist in compiling FAI packages, ensuring completeness and compliance with program requirements.
  • Support verification of inspection readiness for production release.
Inspection Documentation
  • Support development of inspection work instructions, control plans, and inspection strategies.
  • Ensure inspection documentation is complete, accurate, and approved for NPI and FAI stages.
  • Support formal handover of inspection documentation to EPI Quality prior to serial production.
Design for Inspectability
  • Participate in design reviews and support design teams with inspection feasibility and measurement considerations.
  • Identify potential inspection risks and support mitigation actions.
  • Assist in review of supplier inspection plans and FAI documentation.
  • Support coordination of supplier inspection issues and corrective actions.
  • Support inspection process optimization and standardization initiatives.
  • Contribute to best-practice development and knowledge sharing within the AIT team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Metrology Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in aerospace inspection, metrology, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Hands‑on experience with CMM programming, GD&T application, and inspection planning.
  • Familiarity with FAI processes and inspection documentation (AS9102 preferred).
  • Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty, datum systems, and inspection strategy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi‑disciplinary and multi‑stakeholder environment
