Role Overview
As a Shift Technician - Electrical, you will join our dynamic team in Red Sea - Saudi Arabia, where you'll work in an ONSITE environment supporting all operational and technical needs of our state-of-the-art data centre. This role is integral for maintaining uninterrupted electrical services across all shifts, with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance in a professional and supportive culture.
Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain all electrical systems and infrastructure in the data centre, ensuring seamless operation of power and control systems.
- Read and extract reports from building management systems (BMS), CCTV control, and fire alarm panels, and communicate key information to the engineering team.
- Deal confidently with alternating and direct current loads, ensuring compatibility, safety, and operational stability.
- Operate and check rectifiers, UPS, LV panels, switch gear, busway systems, BMS, DCIM, controllers, and related electrical equipment on a regular basis.
- Monitor and record temperature and humidity levels from HVAC systems periodically and through the BMS to ensure optimal environment for data centre equipment.
- Carry out daily system checks, log readings, and promptly escalate anomalies to relevant engineers and supervisors.
- Comply strictly with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and promote safe workplace practices in all activities.
- Work flexibly across shifts to provide 24/7 support according to rotating shift schedules.
The Role
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working in a data centre in an electrical technician capacity.
- Technical diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Willingness and ability to work across changing shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient in operating and extracting data from BMS, CCTV, and fire alarm systems.
- Strong understanding of different electrical loads (AC and DC) and rectifier systems.
- Experience in monitoring and recording HVAC parameters, as well as using BMS for facility monitoring.
- Strong adherence to HSE requirements, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workspace.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Effective team player with clear written and verbal communication abilities in English.
