We are looking for an experienced Package Manager - Show Attraction / Specialist Show Action Animatronics (technical) who will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex animated figures, show action, equipment, and control systems within a theme park or entertainment project.
This position combines technical expertise with project leadership to manage vendors, budgets, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities- Project and Vendor Management:
Manages vendors and internal teams through the entire project lifecycle, including specification, bid/award, design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning of systems. - Technical Oversight:
Provides technical management and oversight, ensuring all systems (mechanical, electrical, controls, special effects, etc.) adhere to safety standards, specifications, and creative intent. - Budget and Schedule Accountability:
Responsible for creating and managing overall project budgets and schedules, advising on risks, and ensuring timely delivery. - Design & Analysis Validation:
Oversees and validates engineering analyses, technical documents, design reviews, and testing plans (e.g. FMEA, hazard analysis). - Integration:
Leads the integration and delivery of the various show and ride systems, coordinating between different technical teams, vendors, and creative departments. - Documentation:
Ensures all documentation, including engineering analyses, design documents, and maintenance manuals, is created and maintained throughout the project.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant experience in a theme park-specific technical/engineering role, with strong vendor and contact management experience preferred.
- Expertise in electromechanical systems, robotics, control systems, and mechanical engineering principles (e.g. stress analysis, motor sizing).
- Strong ability to organize and manage complex tasks, interpret technical instructions, establish facts, and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including art directors, engineers, manufacturers, and maintenance teams, using tact and diplomacy to achieve project goals.
