Job OverviewAerodynamics engineer will be responsible for carrying out the gas turbine turbo machinery design and analysis activities within the turbojet and turbofan development programs. This role requires expert knowledge in gas turbine propulsion, planning for projects and ability to develop individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out gas turbine turbo machinery aerodynamic design and analysis activities.
- Carry out design & off‑design analysis, post‑process engine test data, liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership in engine architectural studies.
- Develop numerical and experimental methods for method verification and validation.
- Define individual and team performance metrics, monitor the performance, and provide constructive feedback.
- Review the designs, simulations and generate testing guidelines.
- Identify project risks and plan for mitigation.
- Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering degree or a related field.
- Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, turbo machinery design, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
- Hands‑on experience in axial and centrifugal compressor, turbine design and optimization for gas turbine applications.
- Experience in unsteady modelling, bleed flows, compressor stability, casing treatment and sub‑idle modelling will be considered as a plus.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience:
5‑15 years or more.
- Technical skills in one or a combination of stated topics.
- Using commercial turbo machinery tools such as Concepts NREC, AxStream or similar.
- Experience in CFD or other flow simulation methods. Ansys CFX, Numeca/Cadence, Fluent etc.
- Experience in multi‑point and multi‑disciplinary optimization.
- Experience in programming using C, Matlab/Simulink or similar.
- Experience in coatings, and cooling technologies.
- Awareness on the state‑of‑the‑art technologies in materials, heat transfer and structural mechanics to link with aerodynamic design and performance.
- Good communication and presentation skills to interact with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary.
