Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a mid‑level Civil 3D CAD Technician to join our Abu Dhabi office, supporting the delivery of complex ports, marine, and waterfront infrastructure projects across the Middle East. This role is ideally suited to a CAD professional currently working within an engineering consultancy environment who has hands‑on experience producing civil and marine infrastructure drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
As part of our specialist CAD Group, you will work closely with civil, coastal, maritime, and structural engineers to develop high‑quality 2D and 3D models and drawings for all stages of project delivery—from concept and planning through detailed design, tender, and construction.
Key Responsibilities- Produce accurate, high‑quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Support the design of ports, terminals, marine structures, dredging works, quay walls, breakwaters, reclamation, and associated civil infrastructure
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to translate design concepts into constructible drawings
- Prepare drawings for planning approvals, permitting, tender packages, and construction documentation
- Apply company CAD standards, layering conventions, and quality control procedures
- Coordinate with engineers to resolve technical drafting issues and incorporate design changes efficiently
Skills
You are a technically strong and detail‑oriented CAD professional who understands how engineering consultancies operate and how CAD supports project delivery. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a project team in a fast‑paced, technically driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience- Diploma or qualification in CAD, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
- 3–7 years’ experience as a CAD Technician or Civil 3D Drafter within an engineering consultancy
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Demonstrated experience on ports, marine, coastal, or heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with grading, surfaces, alignments, profiles, and corridors in Civil 3D
- Experience working on international projects and multidisciplinary teams is an advantage
