Graduate - Civil Engineer; Roads & Highways

Graduates joining the business in a Graduate role will engage in all elements of the ADVANCE program, a structured learning pathway designed to introduce and build essential business and personal skills to bridge the transition from student to professional.

During the program, graduates are assigned duties that offer a broad, well‑rounded learning experience within their field at entry level.

The ADVANCE program lasts approximately 24 months. Successful completion of the program is used as an indicator of strong performance, in line with other company performance metrics.

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Graduate Engineer to join our Roads & Highways Design team at the Abu Dhabi office. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to develop technical skills and gain hands‑on experience in the planning and design of transportation infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced engineers, supporting the delivery of high‑quality, innovative, and sustainable design solutions.

• Build and develop analytical and engineering design skills through practical project experience.
• Conduct engineering design tasks under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision.
• Assist in the design and development of roads and highway projects, including alignments, junctions, and cross‑sections.
• Collect and analyze data to support engineering decisions under supervision.
• Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks to solve basic engineering problems.
• Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams, including drainage, traffic, utilities, and structures.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to design reviews.
• Perform assigned work in accordance with agreed budgets and schedules under supervision.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and project requirements.
• Support site visits and data collection activities as required.
• Understand BIM and digital engineering workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of road design principles and transportation engineering.
• Familiarity with design standards such as ADQCC, DMT, AASHTO, DMRB, or other local authority standards.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Interest in pursuing professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or equivalent).
• Recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for the Graduate Program.
• Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.2 and above.
• Master’s Degree holders must have started study within 12 months of completing the Bachelor’s Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.
• Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for professional‑level roles instead.
