AECOM ADVANCE Program
Graduates joining the business in a Graduate role and engaging in all elements of the ADVANCE program. The program is designed to introduce and build essential business and personal skills, helping to enhance the transition from student to professional.
Graduates are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well‑rounded learning experience within the field they are joining at Graduate entry level.
The ADVANCE program lasts approx. 24 months but the successful completion of the program is only to be used as an indicator for strong performance in line with other indicators (strong or above performance rating etc.).
Job SummaryAt AECOM we have a number of exciting opportunities across the Middle East region for graduates to work within our Transport Planning Team. Our team covers all areas of transport planning, from pedestrian and highway modelling, to public transport and spatial planning. As an integrated team, we provide design and planning advice from inception through to detailed design, often working alongside engineers, architects and master planners in multi‑disciplinary teams.
The wide range of projects will give you the opportunity to work with clients from both the private and public sector. No matter who our client is, we deliver tailored transport solutions using good practice, industry recognised modelling techniques, and applying a range of specialist software. Often starting with a blank canvass, you will be encouraged to combine creativity with technical know‑how to solve our clients’ transport challenges.

Key Responsibilities- Assisting in data collection and analysis.
- Reviewing and building transport models using various modelling tools.
- Planning and evaluating future transport schemes and master plans.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, bids and proposals.
- Attending meetings and workshops with clients and members of other disciplines.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography (Essential), a Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography or Transport Planning is an asset.
- Transport Planning or traffic engineering modules in university coursework or transport planning related intern experience would be an advantage.
- Ability to demonstrate a good technical understanding of Transport Planning.
- Demonstrable interest in Transport Planning and developing a career in this industry sector.
- Membership of a professional institution or society such as CIHT, ICE or TPS.
- Microsoft Office skills, such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub‑contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback.
- Enthusiastic, hard‑working, with ambition and drive.
- Ability to structure & prioritize work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole.
- Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus.
- Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.
- Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.2 and above.
- If you hold a Master’s Degree, it should have started within 12 months of completing your Bachelor’s Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.
- Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for our professional‑level roles instead.
