Overall in-charge of operation, maintenance, and performance of all engine room machinery, dredge pumps, generators, and auxiliary systems.
Lead, supervise, and mentor the engineering team, ensuring safe and efficient vessel operations.
Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of all machinery.
Monitor fuel, lube oil, and other consumables, ensuring optimal usage and cost efficiency.
Maintain accurate engine room logs, technical reports, and machinery performance records.
Ensure compliance with ISM, MARPOL, classification society rules
, and company safety and environmental standards.
Oversee procurement, inventory, and management of spare parts and critical equipment.
Participate in dry-docking, machinery inspections, and troubleshooting critical failures.
Coordinate with shore management regarding operational issues, upgrades, and maintenance planning.
Lead emergency response in the engine room, including firefighting, flooding, or machinery failure situations.
QualificationsValid STCW III/2 Certificate of Competency (Chief Engineer Officer)
5-10 years experience onboard Dredger as Chief Engineer.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
