Role OverviewWe seek a Senior Naval Architect to lead marine vessel design, analysis, and optimization at Technip Energies in Abu Dhabi. You will guide projects from conception through execution, ensuring performance and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities And Duties- Architect and lead design phases of marine vessels, including hull form optimization and structural analysis using advanced modeling software.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive design specifications, ensuring alignment with safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design concepts and recommend improvements.
- Mentor junior naval architects and engineers, fostering innovative and continuous learning.
- Present design proposals and project updates to stakeholders, communicating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements and regulatory changes, implementing best practices in ship design and engineering methodologies.
- Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- 15‑20 years of experience in naval architecture or marine design, with a proven track record of successful project execution.
- Deep knowledge of hydrodynamics, structural analysis, and stability criteria for marine vessels.
- Proficiency and hands‑on experience in design and analysis software such as MOSES, ANSYS, or equivalent.
- Expertise in CAD software for marine design and structural analysis.
- Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies to oversee complex projects.
- Experience with sustainable design practices and technologies in marine applications.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ABS, DNV, and other classification societies.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills, thinking critically and creatively under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively with diverse teams.
- Proactive approach to project management, demonstrating leadership in driving initiatives forward.
