Overview
We are seeking skilled and motivated Field Service Technicians (FST) to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical field support for advanced cargo scanning systems. You will play a key role in delivering high-visibility customer service by diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex Cargo X‑Ray equipment, while also supporting the daily operational tasks of the L3 Field Service Engineers (FSE).
Role OverviewThis dynamic and fast-paced position offers a variety of challenges, with no two days alike. It requires a confident communicator who can build strong relationships with end users and effectively train them on system operation and maintenance. Responsibilities span across all aspects of field support, including hardware, software, PCs, and both wired and wireless networking.
Responsibilities- System Maintenance & Repair:
Perform Level 1 and Level 2 maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Cargo Vehicle Inspection (CVI) systems and subsystems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components, as directed by the Field Service Engineer (FSE). - Technical Diagnostics & Fault Resolution:
Identify, isolate, and resolve technical issues across CVI systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. This includes both proactive and reactive maintenance tasks. - Technical Communication & Escalation:
Provide clear and concise oral and written reports to elevate complex technical issues (Level 3) to engineering teams or site engineers, ensuring accurate and timely resolution. - Installation Support:
Assist installation teams during system deployment phases, including setup, configuration, and initial testing of CVI systems. - Documentation & Reporting:
Complete all required technical documentation, including service daily and weekly reports, system logs, and accurately input service data into internal databases and reporting tools.
- Experience in field service, maintenance, or repair of a range of products.
- Ability to work independently in harsh and remote environments.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with power tools.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Experience gained within an electrical or mechanical discipline.
- Previous experience in Field Service Delivery is preferable; full training will be provided for the right candidate.
