Position Overview

Environmental Engineer opportunity in Abu Dhabi, UAE with AECOM supporting environmental engineering, sustainability compliance and site inspection activities on building and infrastructure projects. This role is open exclusively to UAE Nationals and offers hands‑on experience in environmental assessment, technical coordination and project delivery within a leading global consultancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support environmental and engineering site activities to ensure compliance with approved standards and project specifications
  • Conduct site walk‑downs and inspections to verify conformance with design and environmental requirements
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and sustainability principles to support project delivery
  • Assist in quantity surveys and data tracking for reporting and compliance documentation
  • Prepare and support technical reports aligned with quality and environmental best practices
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, technicians and surveyors
  • Exercise sound professional judgment when evaluating technical findings and site conditions
  • Contribute to maintaining environmental performance standards across assigned projects
Ideal Profile
  • UAE National holding a valid Family Book under Emiratisation guidelines
  • Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 2 to 3 years of experience supporting environmental, sustainability or engineering projects within the built environment
  • Understanding of environmental compliance, permitting requirements and sustainability frameworks such as LEED, Estidama or BREEAM
  • Ability to interpret specifications and construction documentation accurately
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Excel and GIS software where applicable
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
