Responsibilities
- Understand the requirements of Vendor/Manufacturer Quality System requirements
- Review and verify Manufacturer vendor documents as per Purchase Orders
- Ensure material specifications meet relevant codes and project specifications
- Carry out material receiving inspection of all permanent project material by the EPC contractor, witness verify and endorse procedure and welder qualification
- Review and approve inspection test plans
- Review and approve material certificates
- Monitor, inspect and approve all welding, including welding procedures and NDT works
- Monitor, review and approve all PWHT works
- Review all radiographs and NDT reports
- Sign the weld NDT log
- Inspect pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pressurised piping and structural works during fabrication
- Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
- Perform surface preparation, painting and insulation inspection
- Maintain a good understanding of material control, preservation and storage procedures
- Familiar with international codes such as ASME, ANSI, API, AWS, BP, BS, ISO, ISO/EN 1024, etc.
- Raise non‑conformance reports and verify corrective preventive actions on all materials during receiving inspection
- Prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding or Metallurgical Engineering.
CSWIP 3.2 or AWS‑Sr, CWI or ERS welding inspection and PCN Level II qualification is desirable, and BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 1 certification required.
Minimum 12 years experience in onshore and offshore oil and gas/petrochemical industry, third‑party inspection and verification of activities including welding, process piping, mechanical equipment, painting, coating, wrapping, hydro testing and advanced NDT methods, with ability to assess NDT procedures, review and approve multidisciplinary ITPs, procedures, site queries, NCR and concession requests.
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English, including writing technical reports, procedures and QA/QC documentation.
Proven experience liaising with EPC contractors.
Computer literate and familiar with codes ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS.
