Senior Condition Monitoring Engineer – ADNOC Group – Abu Dhabi, UAE

Position Overview

ADNOC Group is seeking a Senior Condition Monitoring Engineer to develop and manage condition monitoring programs that ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical rotating equipment across operational facilities. The role focuses on predictive maintenance strategies, vibration analysis, equipment performance monitoring, and digital diagnostics to identify potential failures before they impact operations. The successful candidate will support plant teams, evaluate monitoring data, and implement advanced reliability engineering practices to optimize equipment lifecycle performance and plant uptime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement condition monitoring policies and programs to ensure early detection of equipment performance issues.
  • Provide expert interpretation of condition monitoring data and recommend corrective action plans to improve equipment reliability.
  • Define requirements for condition monitoring instruments and systems for new equipment installations and integrate them with existing monitoring platforms.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of condition monitoring units across plant sites and recommend improvements for standardization and operational efficiency.
  • Collect and analyze operational data such as vibration signatures, running hours, and equipment trip records to identify performance trends.
  • Ensure regular rotating equipment condition surveys are conducted across plant facilities and recommend remedial actions when required.
  • Participate in vibration monitoring and analysis during commissioning and operational phases to ensure compliance with technical standards.
  • Witness field service inspections conducted by third‑party service providers to verify the quality of maintenance work performed.
  • Assist plant teams in resolving rotating equipment problems using predictive maintenance and diagnostic techniques.
  • Conduct root cause analysis investigations for recurring equipment failures and recommend long‑term reliability improvements.
  • Support implementation of digital predictive maintenance systems that monitor equipment performance from centralized platforms.
  • Develop offline monitoring programs for critical equipment where continuous monitoring systems are not available.
  • Review OEM recommendations regarding condition monitoring technologies and evaluate potential equipment upgrades.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to address machinery performance issues and maintain equipment integrity.
  • Review rotor balancing and performance testing reports following equipment overhaul or repair activities.
  • Use digital diagnostic tools to predict equipment condition and optimize maintenance shutdown planning.
  • Provide technical knowledge sharing and training to site personnel on condition monitoring techniques and reliability practices.
  • Supervise condition monitoring activities and ensure team objectives and operational goals are achieved.
  • Provide input for departmental budgets and support cost control initiatives within reliability programs.
  • Implement approved operational policies, systems, and procedures in line with company and international standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and ADNOC operational standards.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in rotating equipment condition monitoring and reliability engineering within large industrial facilities.
  • Strong experience working with gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, and turbo‑expanders.
  • Proven expertise in vibration analysis and equipment performance monitoring techniques.
  • Certification in vibration analysis such as Level

    I or Level

    II is preferred.
  • Experience implementing predictive maintenance and digital monitoring systems.
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment design, engineering, and maintenance practices within the oil and gas industry.
