Role
Summary:
The Drilling Technology Specialist will provide technical advice and strategic guidance to optimize well design, operations, and adoption of advanced drilling technologies. This role aims to improve well productivity, reduce operational duration and cost, and ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE and operational standards.

- Provide technical advice to asset teams on well design, new drilling technologies, and quality management techniques.
- Evaluate, trial, and support the implementation of advanced drilling technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce well delivery times.
- Define technical requirements for rig equipment and lead studies to optimize rig fleet performance.
- Provide real‑time technical support during drilling crises and ensure quick and effective resolutions.
- Participate in DWOP (Drill Well on Paper) and After‑Action Review workshops.
- Lead audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations; recommend corrective actions.
- Support service provider evaluation, technical bid assessments, and qualification processes.
- Contribute to developing operational standards, best practices, and continuous improvement strategies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or related field).
- Minimum 6 years of experience in drilling engineering and well operations, including exposure to advanced drilling technologies.
- Proven track record in performance optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
- Familiarity with HSE standards, ISO procedures, and international drilling practices.
- Strong knowledge of rig design, equipment, and operational efficiency tools.
- Crisis management expertise in drilling operations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to provide innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
- IWCF or Well Control certification preferred.
- Additional certifications in advanced drilling technology or project management are an advantage.
