The role ensures safe, reliable, and cost‑effective structural design of offshore facilities in compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes.
Key Responsibilities- FEED Engineering & Structural Design – review and oversee FEED structural design for offshore facilities including jackets, topsides, decks, wellhead platforms, bridges, modules, pipe racks and equipment support structures. Ensure designs meet functional requirements, constructability and lifecycle performance; verify structural basis, load cases, and analysis methodologies.
- PMC Oversight & Contractor Management – review and approve EPC contractor deliverables such as structural calculations, drawings and specifications. Ensure contractor compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards, project requirements and international codes. Monitor engineering progress, highlight risks and ensure timely resolution of technical issues. Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
- Structural Analysis & Design Verification – review and validate structural analyses (in‑place, load‑out, transportation, installation, fatigue, and seismic analysis). Ensure accurate consideration of environmental loads (wave, wind, current, temperature) and compliance with API RP 2A, ISO 19902, DNV standards.
- Offshore Structural Integrity – ensure structural integrity through proper material selection, corrosion allowance and protective systems. Review design for durability and maintainability in marine environments; support development of inspection and maintenance philosophy.
- Interface & Multidisciplinary Coordination – coordinate with process, piping, mechanical, marine, geotechnical and HSE teams. Ensure integration of structural systems with offshore facilities and subsea infrastructure; support interface management between topsides and substructures.
- Risk & Safety Considerations – support HAZID, HAZOP, constructability and SIMOPS reviews. Identify structural risks such as overload, fatigue failure and installation challenges. Ensure designs meet safety requirements and follow ALARP principles.
- Fabrication, Installation & Constructability – review fabrication drawings and ensure suitability for yard construction. Evaluate load‑out, lifting and offshore installation strategies (crane, float‑over). Optimize constructability and modularization concepts.
- Documentation & Reporting – review and approve FEED deliverables including structural design basis and philosophies, GA drawings, structural calculations and analysis reports; maintain technical records, action logs and compliance registers; provide regular progress and technical updates to ADNOC Offshore PMC management.
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent. Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage.
- Technical Expertise – strong knowledge of offshore structural systems (jackets, topsides, modular structures), international codes (API RP 2A, ISO 19902, DNV‑ST standards), structural analysis software (SACS, STAAD, SESAM).
