PMC Instrument Engineering Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in all instrumentation design.
• Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
• Coordinate, monitor and handle instrumentation design and engineering with the EPC contractor to meet project expectations and timelines.
• Work with discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC contractors, ADNOC Engineering, Operations, and site interfaces to resolve technical issues and ensure quality and integrity of discipline engineering execution.
• Perform regular and timely technical reviews of instrumentation engineering deliverables produced by engineering consultants and contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards and best practices.
• Review and approve engineering consultant and EPC contractor work, ensuring compliance with ADNOC project specifications, codes, standards and industry best practices.
• Coordinate engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models, contributing input and expertise for design optimisation and validation.
• Participate in teams for equipment sizing and selection, considering optimisation and standardisation.
• Ensure facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines, including environmental and health aspects.
• Ensure full utilisation of existing facilities while optimising new facility requirements for projects.
• Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, design reviews and technical workshops.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
• Coordinate technical reviews, bid evaluation and performance evaluation.
• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Report to the ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager and support Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team.
• Interface with managers, team leaders and engineers in the company’s technical departments, business units, operations units and logistics department.
• Interface regularly with contractor engineering and project management teams and discipline engineers as required.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Instrument, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
• Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
• Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organising and coordinating solutions to complex problems.
