Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analysis of project specifications and blueprints to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Utilize cost estimation software and tools to streamline the estimation process and enhance accuracy
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline project scope, timelines, and budget requirements
- Research and analyze market trends to provide up-to-date information on material and labor costs
- Attend pre-bid meetings to gain insights and clarify project requirements with clients and stakeholders
- Continuously update and maintain a database of unit costs for various materials and labor to ensure precise estimations
- Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project specifications
- Provide support during the project lifecycle by revisiting and adjusting estimates as project conditions evolve
- Foster strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and contract terms
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation within the construction or engineering sectors.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience in handling large-scale projects, especially in the commercial or infrastructure domains, is a plus.
