Senior Electrical Engineer – ADNOC Group – Abu Dhabi, UAE
Position Overview
ADNOC Group is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee maintenance and reliability of electrical assets including HV switch gear, transformers, synchronous machines, HV motors, protection systems, UPS, and variable speed drives. The role ensures smooth integration of new facilities, preventive and predictive maintenance, and compliance with international standards to support oil and gas operations.

Core Duties
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical assets such as HV switch gear, transformers, synchronous machines, HV motors, protection and UPS systems.
- Implement preventive and breakdown maintenance programs to ensure high reliability.
- Conduct life assessment tests, obsolescence studies, and system upgrades for electrical equipment.
- Manage integration of modifications and upgrades to existing facilities.
- Perform and review electrical system studies including load flow, short‑circuit, and protection coordination.
- Develop specifications for switch gear, transformers, VFDs, UPS, and electrical control systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards including API, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, NEC/IEC.
- Support planning, scheduling, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide solutions for HV installations, automation systems, power controls, and safety procedures.
- Promote and enforce HSE practices in all electrical engineering activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering and maintenance of electrical systems within large industrial organizations, preferably oil and gas.
- Strong expertise in electrical studies, predictive maintenance, and system reliability.
- Proven experience with HV installations, electrical automation, and variable speed drives.
- Knowledge of ex‑equipment and electrical safety requirements.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes relevant to oil and gas industries.
- Strong planning, organizational, and coordination skills.
