Purpose:
General stewardship of design project(s) ensuring compliance with contract, code and legislation on all technical matters specific to HSE & Process Safety.
- Project management, production of project deliverables on time and to budget. Preparation of proposals, man hour estimates & execution methodology.
- Identification of HSE requirements for a given project, planning and implementation of associated activities.
- Assist Lead Engineer with project management duties throughout the project duration.
- Preparation of Project HSE Plan, Project HSE / Loss Prevention, F&G Philosophy documents.
- Scoping, coordinating and following up HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, PHSER & 3D Models and other project technical reviews.
- Review of design documents and plans – across all disciplines – to ensure HSE compliance and to identify specific hazards.
- Preparation of Hazardous Area Schedules, Passive fire protection schedules and layouts.
- Fire and gas detection - philosophy, Cause and Effects, layout and specification/date sheets.
- Preparation of Active Fire Protection / Passive Fire Protection system design deliverables.
- Firewater System Design – Demand Calculations, performing Steady State and Transient Hydraulic Analysis (using PIPENET), P&IDs and Layouts, Deluge / Foam System, Sprinkler System Design, etc.
- Ensure ADNOC Offshore engineering practices or recognised other offshore engineering practices applicable to safety & risk design are adopted.
- Development of design and operational engineering studies in the areas Safety & Risk, Process Safety, Loss Prevention etc.
- Application of latest ADNOC Corporate Practices, HSE Manuals, AGPS / AIPS Standards, ADNOC offshore guidelines, other international codes including NFPA, EI and API, etc.
- Preparation and management of both Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessments, including application of dispersion, fire and / or explosion models, COMAH / Safety Case, flare radiation studies, risk ranking, EERA, ESSA, TRIA, HSEIA etc.
- Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Worley's Quality Assurance system relevant to the Business Unit.
- Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in recognised university or Engineering Institutions, BSc Hons in Engineering or related degree, membership of a relevant Engineering Institution or similar. Knowledge of applicable UAE and International safety legislations.
- Minimum of 13-15 years technical safety – HSE Design / Loss Prevention Engineering experience, preferably 20+ years overall.
- Hands‑on experience in Oil & Gas Feasibility, Pre‑FEED, FEED & Detailed Engineering Projects especially for major Offshore platform / complex.
