Position: Senior Procurement QA QC Engineer - Pipeline Structure Packages

Job Overview

Senior Procurement QA QC Engineer – Pipeline, Structure, Packages with a proven track record in handling Procurement Quality on major ADNOC projects.

Key Objectives
  • Supports the application of procurement quality principles, measures, and the quality management system across a program or project.
  • Focused on improving delivery efficiency, customer satisfaction, and reducing potential risks and rework while complying with quality policy and standards and delivering agreed objectives.
  • Supports assurance of the Wood Business Management System through a structured risk‑based program.
  • Supports measures that ensure predictable delivery and continuous improvement using performance data to make factually based decisions. Engages and presents quality leads/managers with information and data to enable preventive interventions.
  • The scope of this position typically applies in support of a deployed Quality manager on a larger/complex program or project.
Responsibilities
  • Vendor and subcontractor selection and approval, ensuring compliance with quality standards and procurement best practices.
  • Oversee procurement quality management, ensuring alignment with industry standards, project specifications, and supplier evaluation protocols.
  • Develop and implement inspection & testing plans, ensuring thorough quality assessments for mechanical components and systems.
  • Conduct criticality rating assessments to optimize procurement strategies for Pipeline, Structure, Packages.
  • Supervise vendor/subcontractor inspections, audits, and non‑conformance resolution, maintaining strict adherence to QC protocols.
  • Define and monitor Procurement Quality Objectives & KPIs, driving continuous improvement in QC and procurement efficiency.
  • Evaluate vendor & subcontractor performance, leveraging detailed analysis for procurement‑driven decision‑making.
  • Ensure accurate procurement document control, maintaining traceability, compliance, and documentation integrity.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations, resolve technical queries, and manage change requests effectively within procurement and quality control operations.
  • Liaise with third‑party inspection agencies, ensuring compliance with mechanical regulations and industry standards for Pipeline, Structure, Packages.
  • Prepare and present procurement quality performance reports, offering key insights for process optimization and strategic improvements.
  • Review and approve vendor/subcontractor documentation, ensuring alignment with project requirements and procurement quality frameworks.
  • Guarantee strict compliance with project codes, standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements for QC in Pipeline, Structure, Packages.
Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements.
  • Manage interface meetings with clients and vendors to progress design scopes.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the engineering team and across the project site.
  • Actively participate in various project workshops/reviews such as Design/P&/HAZID/HAZOP/SIL/ALARP reviews, 3D model reviews, constructability and SIMOPS reviews.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • 13+ years of experience in Oil & Gas project design, spanning conceptual to detailed design stages.
  • 5+ years in a senior engineer position, leading major greenfield/brownfield FEED/detailed design projects.
  • Extensive expertise in procurement quality management, including vendor selection and technical bid evaluation.
