Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications while managing on‑site teams effectively.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to resolve design issues, ensuring that all modifications are documented and executed accurately.
- Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports on project progress including labor, materials used, and any discrepancies encountered.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services, optimizing workflow and minimizing downtime.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules, monitoring expenditures and progress to keep the project on track financially and temporally.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on site, conducting training sessions and ensuring all personnel are equipped with necessary protective gear.
- Facilitate communication between project stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to promote transparency and address concerns promptly.
- Utilize construction management software to track project milestones and streamline reporting processes, enhancing overall project management efficiency.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates and feedback on site progress, challenges, and resource needs to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, providing a solid foundation in engineering principles and practices.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant site engineering experience, demonstrating a track record of on‑site project management and execution.
- Possession of a valid engineering license or certification, such as Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE), showcasing professional credibility.
- Proven experience in construction management software, such as AutoCAD, Primavera, or MS Project.
- Strong understanding of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards in the specific region of work, ensuring compliance on all projects.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages can be advantageous for international projects and diverse teams.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills, enabling quick decision‑making and effective resolution of unexpected challenges on site.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering collaboration among diverse teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies, contributing to personal and professional growth in the engineering field.
