Responsibilities
- Plan design and model scenarios for the development of the sewage system to ensure safe, timely and cost‑effective management of network replacement and assets expansion.
- Assess project requests.
- Forecast and plan for future demand.
- Evaluate hydraulic calculations and assess catchment characteristics.
- Develop project scope from the outline statement of requirements.
- Review TORS and tender contract documents for discipline‑related inputs.
- Evaluate technical offers and review and approve technical submittals and proposals provided by designers, including reports, drawings, calculations, etc., as specified in the contract.
- Specify and design works as required and advised by the client.
- Perform technical overview of consultant deliverables.
- Review consultant and contractor designs for technical completeness and conformance with standards and norms.
- Review project master plans.
- Contribute to strategic planning.
- Manage project timelines and risks.
- Monitor project progress and costs.
- Assist in and contribute to handling claims.
- Conduct site inspections and inspections at manufacturers, suppliers, vendors, and technology providers.
- Ensure compliance of work with contract schedule, budget, and project advice.
- Identify opportunities to apply new technology to the organization’s advantage.
- Update knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis.
- Contribute to financial planning.
- Ensure quality and compliance.
- Maintain documentation and reporting to the client.
- Communicate with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a related engineering discipline.
- PMP certification is highly preferable.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in the utility industry (wet utilities – sewage) with exposure to operations and maintenance, planning and forecasting, and project management.
- Knowledge in design and construction of sewerage system.
- Experience working with project planning and management related systems and packages.
- Knowledge in asset planning and forecasting.
- Planning and organizing within desired parameters.
- Effective management of time and setting of priorities.
- Ability to work in alignment to a defined strategic approach in terms of asset planning and forecasting.
