Senior Supervisor - Commissioning‑Process Primary Duties

• Ensures that all commissioning activities are completed in a safe, efficient and cost‑effective manner.
• Provides day‑to‑day support to the Commissioning Engineer / Commissioning Coordinator.
• Sets up technical teams and monitors progress against the schedule.
• Confirms/arranges suitable PPE is available to all personnel under his/her supervision.
• Arranges PTW and ensures Tool‑Box talks are completed in line with HSE requirements before work starts.
• Is continually present on the field to guarantee the quality and progress of work.
• Leads a team of technicians, operators and sub‑contractors and safely executes the work.
• Analyzes team performance against schedule and reports/advices any changes required to maintain progress.
• Monitors availability of personnel to complete planned workloads.
• Liaises with other disciplines to ensure work fronts are available as required.
• Ensures transport is available for site teams.
• Looks for initiatives to improve the work within pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Prepares all testing dossiers and proper documentation to safely execute the work (drawings, procedures, etc.).
• Keeps technically updated through the study of related technical literature, including procedures and guidelines.
• Ensures correct tool packages are available along with detailed commissioning procedures for individual jobs.
• Reviews spares and spare usage against the plan.
• Investigates causes of defective operation of systems and equipment, including interfaces to other systems, and suggests modifications to equipment or operational conditions.
• Ensures that commissioning procedures are adhered to and completes all necessary documentation to facilitate work and keep current records.
• Ensures full compliance with company fire, safety and environment procedures/standards in all executed work tasks and actively contributes to the HSE section.
• Identifies potential HSSE risks related to commissioning and takes appropriate steps to mitigate them.
• Ensures the commissioning area is controlled, all energized systems are clearly marked and barricaded off; access control is in place and SIMOPS are carefully assessed and controlled.
• Provides input to ensure minimal standby time for vendor representatives and avoids their revisits.
• Interprets and understands P&IDs, process flow diagrams, circuit diagrams and control narratives accurately to avoid rework or lost time.
• Performs any other related duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Supervisor.

• Assists in performing various activities related to pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up of process systems such as chemical cleaning, leak testing, catalyst loading, steam blowing, package unit start‑up, inerting, plant start‑up operation and stabilization.
• Inspects all systems for operational readiness.
• Ensures LOTO is implemented for both electrical and mechanical components as required for the safe commissioning and start‑up of systems/plants.
• Assists in preparing plans and specific method statements, including P&‑ups for activities related to pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up of process systems.
• Starts up and operates plants and guides operators during work execution.
• Ensures stable plant/unit operations and monitors flow, level, temperature, pressure, etc. to maintain normal operation without trips or shutdowns.
• Assists with DCS operations such as alarm trips, logic, interlocks, permissive, overrides, etc.
• Takes part in plant start‑up and operations.
