We are seeking a qualified and experienced API Inspection Engineer In‑Service to perform inspection activities for static equipment within operating oil & gas facilities. The role involves developing inspection scopes, executing inspections, ensuring compliance with international codes, and supporting asset integrity management through detailed reporting and recommendations.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed inspection scopes of work, including review and preparation of Isometric and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Perform in‑service inspections of piping systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks, fired heaters and boilers, ensuring accurate and clear reporting of observed conditions.
- Identify and recommend appropriate inspection and NDT techniques when further assessment is required.
- Witness and verify testing activities, including pressure testing, PRD testing, equipment repair, modification and new fabrication activities.
- Ensure all inspection and testing activities comply with applicable international codes, standards and company procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection work packs, including Written Scheme of Examination (WSE), equipment drawings and isometrics, inspection procedures and specifications, and supporting technical documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to the Company HSE Management System and safe work practices during all inspection activities.
- Generate detailed inspection reports in approved formats, documenting findings, deviations and recommendations.
- Develop repair and remedial work scopes based on inspection findings and integrity assessments.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in plant inspection within oil & gas process and utility facilities, preferably in the Middle East.
- Strong experience in refining and petrochemical facilities is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory certifications: API
510 – Pressure Vessel Inspector; API
570 – Piping Inspector; API
653 – Storage Tank Inspector. - Working knowledge or certification in Risk‑Based Inspection (API
580) is preferred. - Proven experience in development and execution of inspection work packs.
- Strong understanding of international codes and standards (ASME, API, etc.).
