Senior Power & Energy Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Power Energy Design Engineer to join our growing engineering consultancy team. This role involves designing, coordinating, and preparing engineering drawings and technical documentation for power generation substations, renewable energy, and utility infrastructure projects.

• Prepare concept, preliminary, and detailed engineering designs for power and energy projects.
• Design substations, transformer stations, switch gear buildings, and utility facilities.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Develop single‑line diagrams (SLD), load schedules, cable sizing and protection coordination studies.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, architectural, and MEP teams.
• Prepare authority submission packages and support project approvals.
• Review shop drawings and contractor submissions.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and local utility requirements.

• Solar PV Power Plants
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• High‑voltage substations (11kV–220kV and above)
• Power generation facilities
• Grid connection studies

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power and energy design projects.
• Experience in substations, power plants, solar energy projects, or utility infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and utility standards.
• Experience with ETAP, AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, EPLAN or equivalent software.
• Experience preparing tender and construction drawings.
• Knowledge of Abu Dhabi utility requirements is an advantage.
