Overview
Roles in this team are crucial for ensuring the safety, reliability and efficiency of engineering projects and typically support one or more of the following specialist areas. This role has dual responsibilities in technical integrity management and project engineering, with the balance adjusted as per project requirements.
Integrity Management- Develop and implement integrity management strategies for pipelines and process facilities, including Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
- Prepare written schemes of inspection.
- Specify, implement and support asset performance management software configuration and implementation.
- Provide expert advice and assessments around fitness-for-purpose of pressure systems, including re‑rating and de‑rating.
- Provide day‑to‑day support to the Project Manager in planning, coordinating and executing project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule and budget.
- Monitor project progress, track key milestones and prepare status updates, risk logs and performance metrics.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and timely resolution of technical and commercial issues.
- Assist in document control and ensure compliance with project procedures, standards and client requirements.
- Competent team member with typically 2–4 years of progressively responsible experience.
- Contribute to the successful completion of integrity engineering work scopes and consultancy services as directed by the immediate supervisor.
- Assist in the development of integrity engineering deliverables, including philosophies, reports, specifications and data sheets.
- Perform routine and conventional engineering tasks in line with integrity discipline practices, procedures and programs.
- Research problems through various sources of technical information and make recommendations on the acceptability of integrity supplied and work completed by contractors.
- Coordinate work with other engineers and operating groups, and provide active participation in design reviews and vendor document reviews.
- 2–4 years of progressively responsible pertinent experience in integrity engineering.
- Ability to create functional and cost‑effective designs that meet specifications and requirements with supervision.
- Proficiency in the use of design software and database systems related to engineering functions within the discipline.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to the integrity engineering discipline.
- Awareness of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution.
- Developed knowledge of regulatory framework, associated legislation, industry and technology development within the discipline.
- Working knowledge of specific procedures and applications; understanding of internal economic factors affecting projects.
- Solid understanding of company policies and procedures that apply to assignments.
- Good level of general computer literacy and familiarity with relevant specialist engineering software.
- Basic knowledge and competency in project management principles and practices.
- ISCED Level 6 (Bachelor’s minimum) or Level 7 (Master’s preferred). Degree in engineering discipline, or equivalent tertiary education and industry experience.
- Working towards Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution.
- Demonstrable initial CPD record showing examples of technical and consulting development.
