Job Purpose- As part of a multi‑discipline project team representing AESG, conduct site inspections and verify the tested results are correct.
- Develop knowledge about commissioning processes and test procedures in engineering discipline and demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn.
- MEP / Building Services Engineering Degree
- BSc Mechanical Engineering
- BSc Electrical Engineering
- BSc Building Services Engineering
- MEP / Building Services Engineering College Diploma
- HNC, HND or equivalent
- MEP / Building Services Engineering College Certificate
- ONC, OND or equivalent
- MEP Trade Time Served + City & Guilds Certificate
- Minimum 2 years of job‑related experience + Engineering Degree
- Minimum 3 years of job‑related experience + College Diploma
- Minimum 4 years of job‑related experience + College or Trade Certificate
- Industry Accreditations
- Incorporated Engineer, desirable but not essential
- CSA Grade 3 qualified, desirable but not essential
- Commissioning certification such as BCA, ACG or NEBB, desirable but not essential
- Moderate experience and proficiency in multiple competencies.
- Capable of handling tasks with supervision.
- Assist senior personnel in carrying out commissioning activities.
- Develop knowledge in chosen discipline and how different systems interact in buildings.
- Conduct site inspections in selected discipline.
- Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice.
- Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice.
- Report issues found to senior team members in a clear, accurate and concise manner.
- Liaise with contractor commissioning teams in a professional manner.
- Carry out site observations with respect to quality of installation.
- Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools, adhering to project and commissioning guidelines.
- Assist with tracking completion of tasks and preparing look‑ahead documents.
- Keep a daily diary of events and activities under your control, including systems inspected, documents reviewed, and any decisions made by authorities on site.
- Leadership / Management skills As individuals gain experience and expertise, they may move into supervisory positions incorporating management or supervision of tasks or small projects. This role entails comprehending mentor guidance while still taking the initiative, occasionally seeking guidance to ensure successful performance.
- Communication / Collaboration Engage in more complex interactions, such as active participation in meetings, presenting to small groups, and contributing to team discussions. Working as part of a team (collaboration). Clear communication with good listening skills. Be patient, adaptable and take responsibility.
