Job Overview
Wood is recruiting an experienced Graduate Project Engineer – UAE National for the Engineering team in the Oil, Gas & New Energies business in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role is full‑time and office based.
Responsibilities- Understand the full engineering project lifecycle by supporting planning, scheduling, cost control, and progress tracking activities.
- Develop proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, and internal engineering management systems.
- Support project coordination by preparing progress updates, monitoring risks, and tracking action items across multidisciplinary teams.
- Assist in resource planning and allocation by monitoring team utilisation, manpower forecasts, and workload distribution.
- Contribute to cost and schedule analysis through data collection, variance reviews, and recommending preliminary corrective actions.
- Enhance understanding of engineering management processes, including change management, document control, quality standards, and compliance.
- Support stakeholder communication by preparing presentations, dashboards, meeting minutes, and clear project documentation.
- Demonstrate continuous learning by completing relevant training (project management fundamentals, data analytics, risk management) and applying insights on live projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or a related discipline).
- Basic understanding of project management principles (planning, scheduling, cost control).
- Familiarity with engineering workflows, documentation, and quality procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with MS Project, Primavera P6, or Power BI is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities to support cross‑functional engineering teams.
- Ability to interpret basic technical drawings, schedules, and reports.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow through structured training and on‑the‑job development.
