Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Area HSE manager in HSE related matters; assess project HSE standards and general appearances.
- Liaise with project consultant and client as and when required regarding HSE related issues.
- Monitor HSE team performances and ensure their compliance with HSE Management System, HSE plan and requirements.
- Ensure all project risk assessments are developed and followed by operational teams.
- Review and advise project management team requirements with regards to HSE standards and general project appearances; follow up and ensure their implementation.
- Organize and ensure project site walks are conducted and all deviations are rectified accordingly.
- Organize and lead project HSE Committee Meetings.
- Assess project activities’ exposure to risk and ensure adequate control measures are in place.
- Audit, report and follow up on findings from monthly audits for the project to ensure HSE Management System, safety and environmental plan and legal requirements are implemented.
- Asses and prepare department staff appraisals and set KPIs accordingly.
- Communicate with local government/authority and HSE Management at site after any accident occurs.
- Manage all security related issues within the project; report and investigate all accidents and incidents within the project as per company and project specific procedures.
- Ensure all subcontractors comply with Innovo HSE rules and regulations related to the HSE Management System, HSE plan and legal requirements.
- Coordinate project HSE inspections with the site HSE Team.
- Coordinate training arrangements for site staff.
- Collect and review monthly safety statistics reports from all projects and submit to HSE Director.
- Assist project construction team to execute construction activities safely as per the approved Method Statement and Risk Assessment.
- Prepare and submit task specific risk assessments to consultants for approval and ensure measures are communicated with construction lead staff and HSE team.
- Conduct monthly safety audits to ensure the project is complying with ISO certification.
- HSE Degree or diploma.
- Further qualifications as required by relevant zoning authorities.
- 10+ years relevant working experience in well-established contracting companies in the GCC.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of HSE standards, operational hazards and controls, and international HSE standards.
- Hands‑on experience implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Ability to influence employees for the implementation of HSE tools.
- Hands‑on knowledge of HSE Management Systems.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of the business; fluent in spoken and written English.
- Ability to accept direction and complete work independently, demonstrating confidence, conviction and the ability to intervene at all times.
- A self‑starter with a high degree of initiative.
- Capability to carry out risk assessments and provide improvement recommendations.
- Ability to work under all outside weather and site conditions.
