Responsibilities
- Develop, interpret, and implement policies, objectives, and standards applicable to scope, cost, schedule control, and analysis activities.
- Interface with management and project teams for project planning and controls presentations.
- Develop and present scope, cost, and schedule reports and presentations for key project stakeholders.
- Review project work activities to ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Develop micro‑phasing schedules, as required, to coordinate particularly challenging work phases and facilitate completion among various parties.
- Review project control systems to identify and flag variances on a weekly basis, including manpower, equipment, planning, and revenue variances.
- Control and track project planning estimates in coordination with the Engineering and Tendering Departments for submission to Management.
- Prepare, together with the Project Managers, the core monthly reports, including manpower plans, equipment plans, and production follow‑ups.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, such as Total Quality Management (TQM), by monitoring compliance with quality procedures and utilizing quality control checklists.
- Coordinate and facilitate various meetings, including project progress review meetings and quality circle meetings.
- Apply appropriate project progress measurement methods to ensure the project schedule remains on track to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Devise strategies to overcome roadblocks or delays by applying technical expertise, innovative solutions, alternative methods, and effective utilization of available resources.
- Coordinate with project management staff to ensure achievement of project objectives and timelines.
- Review overall project status with the Project Controls team and Project Management, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate the development of schedule resource loading and leveling, as well as schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities.
- Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required.
- Develop creative reporting tools to communicate complex project sequencing and progress assessments effectively.
- Promptly report budget and/or schedule variances.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in a related discipline or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in project management, project controls, planning, budgeting, and production control within related industries.
- Experience in dredging and civil marine projects is highly preferred.
