Job Summary

At Miral, we are seeking an Internal Compliance Specialist to lead compliance monitoring and governance across rides, attractions, engineering, and facilities management activities. You will drive the implementation and refinement of our Internal Compliance Framework while collaborating closely with Rides Maintenance and Facilities teams. Your expertise will ensure rides, inspections, certifications, permits, and corrective actions align with internal policies, regulations, and standards.

By identifying compliance gaps and tracking remediation, you will shape an environment where safety and governance are prioritized. This role demands a deep understanding of risk management, auditing, and control effectiveness in complex, safety-critical operations while delivering actionable insights to leadership.

Responsibilities Compliance Monitoring and Assurance
  • Lead the assurance of compliance adherence across all maintenance operations, aligning rides, attractions, engineering, and facilities management with internal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Oversee compliance dashboards and reporting to track key risk indicators, outstanding remediation actions, inspection trends, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Conduct structured reviews and walkthroughs to assess control effectiveness, testing maintenance processes, engineering documentation, inspection regimes, and safety-critical controls.
Record and Documentation Governance
  • Review and validate critical records, including preventive maintenance schedules, inspection reports, certifications, permits, asset records, contractor documentation, and incident evidence.
  • Ensure the governance and accessibility of compliance documentation—policies, SOPs, checklists, control narratives—and maintain audit-ready repositories for regulatory demands.
Corrective Action and Risk Management
  • Oversee the tracking and resolution of corrective actions arising from incidents, audits, walkthroughs, and compliance reviews, ensuring timely escalation and closure.
  • Analyze incident and failure reports to evaluate root causes, documentation completeness, and follow-through by operational teams, driving continuous improvement.
  • Assess compliance of contractors delivering rides maintenance, engineering services, or facilities management, validating adherence to safety and quality assurances.
Compliance Program Leadership
  • Partner with Rides Maintenance, Engineering, and Facilities teams to provide expert guidance, challenge gaps, and enhance accountability for compliance obligations.
  • Support investigations and special projects by analyzing documentation, interpreting findings, and contributing to structured reports and recommendations.
  • Lead the evolution of the Internal Compliance Framework by identifying systemic weaknesses, recommending enhancements, and improving escalation and reporting mechanisms.
Qualifications Essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of experience in compliance, safety, maintenance governance, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), internal controls, or risk management within amusement parks, entertainment, hospitality, or facilities/industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, internal controls, risk assessment, and assurance activities.
  • Good knowledge of inspection regimes, engineering documentation, maintenance processes, and safety-critical controls.
  • Proficiency reviewing technical records: inspections, incident reports, corrective actions, permits, and asset documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with reporting/management platforms such as Power BI or Maximo.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder communication.
Desirable
  • Certifications or training:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety/compliance credentials.
  • Training in internal auditing, compliance management, or incident investigation.
  • Familiarity with amusement ride safety standards or theme park technical operations.
  • Experience working in theme parks, multi-site operations, or asset-intensive industries with computerized maintenance systems (e.g., Maximo).
  • Prior experience preparing compliance dashboards, senior management reporting, and executive presentations.
  • Experience conducting compliance walks, inspections, audits, or control testing in safety-critical environments.
