Emirates Global Aluminium is the world’s biggest ‘premium aluminium’ producer and the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside the oil and gas industry. EGA is an integrated aluminium producer, with operations on four continents from bauxite mining to the production of cast primary aluminium and recycling. EGA operates aluminium smelters in Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates, an alumina refinery in Al Taweelah, a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea, a speciality foundry in high strength recycled aluminium in Germany, and a recycling plant in the United States.
Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of In-Country Value (ICV) strategies to maximize local economic contributions in the UAE
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and government entities to align ICV efforts with EGA's bold aspiration to increase our contribution to the local economy, and overall corporate strategy, while optimizing cost, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.

KEYACCOUNTABILITIES ICV Strategy and Business Development
- Lead in-depth analysis of EGA procurement data, market trends, and local opportunities to develop and implement robust ICV strategies aimed at increasing local content across projects, including backward integration to reduce dependency on external sourcing.
- Collaborate with procurement and business areas to integrate ICV from planning stages, identifying opportunities for new local industries where EGA may co-invest or lead.
- Develop business cases for ICV-related initiatives, including partnerships for local supplier development, and ensure alignment with corporate strategy through coordination with Strategy & Corporate Development.
- Steers localization and award-weighting decisions across ~USD 1.8B/year and ~30,000 PO lines at EGA to maximize UAE value retention in line with MoIAT’s AED 300B 2031 industrial target.
- Prioritize and mature opportunities for local business growth including SMEs to support EGA operational and corporate requirement.
- Attract suppliers of all categories for materials and services to establish manufacturing facilities and service centers in UAE.
- Influences EGA end users for sourcing toward UAE-made solutions while safeguarding quality, cost, delivery and develops supplier ecosystems (qualification, dual-sourcing, resilience).
- Monitor and review the EGA ICV model in place and recommend improvements where applicable.
- Support initiatives related to Make it in the Emirates.
- Support build EGA’s SME program end-to-end (policies, database, IT capture, adoption with end users), partners with government to enable SMEs, and coaches SMEs on cost/quality/delivery/ESG to be tender-ready.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and engagements with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, government entities and external partners to promote EGA's ICV strategy and foster collaborations.
- Support a cross-company (Procurement, Operations, Finance, Legal, ESG) ICV agenda with one direct report and engage in multi-function delivery with external partners (MoIAT/OEMs/SMEs/MIITE).
- Participate in industry conferences to promote EGA's ICV.
- Establish supplier development programs, providing training, education, and support to enhance local suppliers' capabilities.
- Develop and revise ICV and SME related policies, processes, and procedures periodically, aligning with industry leaders.
- Co-shapes national ICV policy with MoIAT and continuously updates EGA ICV policies/procedures and governance to raise ICV year-on-year.
- Monitor, measure, and report on ICV and SME performance, spend, and project progress, generating insightful data analyses and dashboards for senior leadership.
