The Senior Engineer – QA/QC (Mechanical/E&I)

The Senior Engineer – QA/QC (Mechanical/E&I) is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards. The role involves overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities across offshore oil and gas projects, conducting inspections, managing quality documentation, monitoring contractor performance, and supporting testing and commissioning activities to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works comply with project specifications, API, ASME, ISO, and other applicable standards.
  • Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections for piping systems, equipment installation, welding activities, and mechanical completion works.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to project quality requirements.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams on quality-related matters.
  • Witness and verify testing activities, including hydrostatic and pneumatic tests.
  • Perform and witness inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), calibration activities, loop checks, and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor quality performance, including vendor inspections and subcontractor compliance.
  • Manage quality documentation, inspection records, and final handover dossiers.
  • Coordinate quality-related activities with construction and commissioning teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum 15–18+ years of experience in Mechanical QA/QC within the offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 5–10+ years of experience on offshore projects (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in PMC or client-side roles.
  • Previous experience on ADNOC projects in a similar role is an added advantage.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods
  • Mechanical equipment standards
  • Offshore construction quality requirements
  • Thorough understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes for offshore projects.
