PMC Construction Supervisor - Mechanical
Responsibilities
The PMC Construction Supervisor Mechanical is responsible for overseeing and monitoring all mechanical construction activities executed by EPC contractors on an onshore oil & gas project. The role ensures that construction work is completed safely in compliance with project specifications, approved procedures, quality standards, and project schedules.
Supervise and monitor mechanical construction activities performed by EPC contractors; ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, codes, standards, and HSE requirements; verify contractor manpower, equipment, and resources are adequate for planned activities; monitor construction progress and report any deviations from schedule; supervise installation of static equipment, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, turbines, piping systems and pipe supports, mechanical packages and skids, HVAC systems if applicable;
and utility systems.
Review method statements, work packs, and inspection test plans; promote and enforce a strong safety culture on site; ensure contractors comply with permit‑to‑work (PTW) systems; participate in toolbox talks, safety audits, and incident investigations; stop unsafe work when necessary; witness inspections and testing activities; verify construction works meet project quality requirements; ensure NCRs, punch items, and quality observations are closed in a timely manner;
coordinate with QA/QC personnel regarding inspections and documentation; coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, commissioning, HSE, and planning teams; attend construction meetings and provide progress updates; resolve site technical issues and elevate major concerns to management; support pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities; prepare daily, weekly and monthly construction reports; maintain records of construction progress, issues, and contractor performance; review as‑built documentation and mechanical completion dossiers.
- Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical or equivalent from an accredited institute.
- Minimum of Ten (10+) years experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
- PMC experience on EPC onshore brownfield field production upgradation and modification of existing facilities projects is highly preferable.
