Job Description Overview
Looking for an individual with experience in landscape projects, including irrigation, streetscape, parks, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Check elevations, setting‑out, and other survey work performed by the contractor to ensure accuracy.
- Advise the Resident Engineer on construction surveys and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain construction surveys and quantity records as directed by the Resident Engineer.
- Perform initial baseline and control surveys, including establishment of project benchmarks.
- Attend to contractor requests for surveys, checking setting‑out of centerlines, structures, and slope stakes.
- Verify field measurement surveys, including original and final cross‑sections, critical elevations, structural element locations, earthwork grading, pavement, and appurtenances.
- Review detailed contractor surveys before construction operations and investigate discrepancies.
- Participate in formatting and standard procedures for calculation and documentation of quantities.
- Calibrate and check survey instruments; engage in as‑built review and finalization with Resident Engineer, land surveyors, and inspectors.
- Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.
- Interface with client and contractors to determine and verify survey requirements; complete surveying tasks on schedule and within budget.
- Inspect setting‑out, levels, service locations, and ensure their protection.
- Prepare supporting sketches and maintain all survey documentation.
- Measure work completed when required; observe site safety procedures.
- Assist in preparing “as‑built” drawings; actively participate in health and safety activities as required.
- Perform any other related responsibilities as appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in landscape projects, including irrigation, streetscape, parks, and infrastructure.
- Prior experience in hospitality and residential projects in Abu Dhabi.
- Knowledge and/or experience with CAD software, survey software, total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
- Ability to read working drawings and enforce specifications.
- Fully computer literate; able to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and use project‑specific engineering and construction software.
- Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
