Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Instrumentation Control IC Supervisor to support maintenance and outage activities within a Nuclear Power Plant environment. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, supervision and coordination of IC maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards, quality requirements and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Technical/Operational Leadership:
Supervise and coordinate Instrumentation & Control maintenance activities during planned outages and operational maintenance programs. Lead execution of assigned maintenance scopes to improve equipment reliability, plant performance and regulatory compliance. - Provide technical guidance during troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, equipment failures and abnormal operating conditions. Support engineering evaluations, operability assessments and temporary modification activities.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and within approved schedules.
- Assist in planning major maintenance windows and outage activities. Optimize manpower utilization, work sequencing and resource allocation.
- Review maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with plant standards and work instructions.
- Instrumentation & Control Maintenance:
Supervise inspection, testing, calibration, overhaul and maintenance of IC equipment and systems; manage corrective and preventive maintenance activities. - Oversee replacement and maintenance of switches, solenoids, manifolds, positioners, sensors, indicators and control valve components.
- Support control valve diagnostics, tuning, adjustments and performance testing.
- Ensure proper documentation and closure of maintenance activities.
- Safety, Quality & Compliance:
Conduct toolbox talks, pre-job briefings and safety meetings; ensure strict adherence to nuclear safety, industrial safety, radiation protection and environmental requirements; enforce compliance with quality assurance procedures and maintenance standards. - Participate in safety observations, audits and continuous improvement initiatives; promote a strong safety culture and operational excellence mindset across the team.
- Team Leadership & Reporting:
Supervise and mentor technicians and maintenance personnel; provide technical coaching and performance feedback; manage first-line performance discipline and workforce coordination issues. - Prepare work progress reports and communicate status updates to management; support workforce training and qualification programs.
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. - Experience:
Minimum 2 years in a Nuclear Power Plant outage environment; minimum 1 year of supervisory experience leading maintenance teams. Proven experience in primary and secondary side I&C maintenance activities. Preferred experience within nuclear, power generation or other highly regulated industrial environments. - Technical
Skills:
Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, control systems and plant maintenance practices; experience troubleshooting and diagnostics of I&C equipment; familiarity with control valve maintenance, testing and calibration; understanding of international maintenance and nuclear industry standards; knowledge of plant safety procedures, work permits, outage management processes; experience using SAP, Primavera or similar maintenance management systems; ability to interpret technical drawings, procedures and engineering documentation.
Knowledge of valve operations and heavy‑lifting activities is advantageous. - Certifications & Training:
Nuclear industry safety training preferred;
Permit Holder certification or equivalent an advantage;
Confined Space Entry and Radiation Safety certifications desirable.
