Senior Piping Material Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Piping Material Engineer, reporting directly to the Head of the Department to join our team based in UAE, Abu Dhabi.

Specialist engineer degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 12 years experience, of which at least 5 years in a senior position with specialization in Piping Material activities such as preparation of piping specifications, piping classes, job specification, piping requisitions (MR/SR), bid evaluation, Technical Bid tabulation, MTO coordination, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Diploma.

• Should be well versed with ASME B 31.3 and other ASME, ASTM, BS, NACE, ISO codes and standards for piping design and materials.
• Should be able to work independently and under pressure, pro‑active, cooperative, communicative, analytical, cost conscious and dutiful.
• Should have knowledge and experience in piping MTO concept and exposure to piping material management system. Knowledge of MARIAN will be an added advantage.
• Preparation and checking of Piping classes, specification for Piping bulk and valves, Data sheet for valves and piping speciality items, Material requisition for piping bulk, valves and piping speciality items.
• To perform various piping design calculations like pipe wall thickness, branch reinforcement, blind calculation etc. as required for the project.
• To review and understand client specification and implement their requirements to the assigned project.
• Technical bid evaluation, technical discussions with client / vendors and preparing technical bid tabulation.
• To review and implement process and layout requirements for special valves and piping speciality items.
• Provides techno‑economical alternative in design / material, if necessary, by ensuring compliance with code requirements and other project specifications.
• Co‑ordinate with piping lead engineers, design engineers and designers as well as with other disciplines to establish various technical and material related details.
• Coordinating with ADPS administrator, Lead Engineer and GMINI/MARIAN coordinator for providing and updating various database files and RDB files for PDS / PDMS.
• To co‑coordinate MTO activities on project or EPC proposal independently.
• Vendor drawing review in VDB.
