Piping Design Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design support mechanical and piping engineering activities related to Hot Tapping, Online Leak Repair, Bolting, Machining and Pipeline Intervention services.
- Prepare project scopes, technical proposals, engineering procedures, cost estimates, schedules and related documentation.
- Review client specifications, drawings, P‑IDs, isometrics, datasheets and vendor documents to ensure technical compliance.
- Perform engineering calculations and develop detailed designs for split tees, repair clamps, enclosures, hot‑tap fittings and other mechanical components.
- Prepare and review fabrication drawings, material take‑offs (MTOs) and engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, subcontractors and internal departments to ensure timely project execution.
- Support procurement activities through technical bid evaluations, material selection and vendor document reviews.
- Conduct quality inspections and technical assessments of fabricated clamps, fittings and specialized service equipment.
- Provide onsite engineering support during site surveys, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning and startup activities.
- Participate in tie‑in package reviews, tie‑in site surveys, tie‑in workshops and field engineering activities.
- Select suitable piping materials and components based on process conditions, design codes and project requirements.
- Perform preliminary piping stress analysis and support flexibility assessments for piping systems.
- Prepare and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and online welding procedures for in‑service applications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, MSS and client specifications.
- Support risk assessments (HAZID, HAZOP) and method statement preparation for engineering activities.
- Promote and ensure adherence to company HSE policies, procedures and safe work practices throughout project execution.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Recognized professional certification in Mechanical Design and Piping.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a similar work environment.
- Experience in Tie‑in Package Reviews, Tie‑in Site Surveys, Tie‑in Workshops, Hot Tapping, Online Leak Repair, Bolting and Machining activities.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience in piping design and related processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
