Piping Engineer

The Piping Engineer will be responsible for preparing reviewing and coordinating piping engineering deliverables during the Engineering phase of onshore oil and gas projects. The role requires strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering / Detail Design ensuring design quality constructability and compliance with project and industry standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and review piping engineering deliverables including Piping Layouts General Arrangement drawings Isometrics Tie-in schedules and MTOs.
- Perform piping design and stress analysis activities for onshore oil & gas facilities (process units utilities pipe racks equipment piping etc.).
- Review and interpret P&IDs project specifications vendor data and engineering inputs from other disciplines.
- Ensure piping design aligns with process mechanical civil/structural electrical and instrumentation requirements.
- Conduct 3D model review sessions (e.g. using AVEVA E3D PDMS SP3D) and provide design optimization recommendations.
- Review piping stress reports flexibility analyses support designs and ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
- Support material selection valve sizing line designation tables and preparation of piping specifications.
- Coordinate with procurement and provide technical support during vendor document reviews.
- Participate in design review meetings HAZOP/HAZID sessions and constructability reviews.
- Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards (ASME B31.3 API ASTM etc.) and company QA/QC procedures.
- Bachelors degree in mechanical Piping or related Engineering discipline.
- 6-12 years of experience in piping engineering for onshore oil & gas projects.
- Proven experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering / Detail Design phases.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling and piping design tools (e.g. E3D PDMS SP3D).
- Hands-on experience in piping stress analysis using CAESAR II or equivalent software.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME API ASTM etc.).
- Previous experience with EPC contractors or engineering consultancies is an advantage.
- Excellent coordination communication and technical reporting skills.
