Civil Engineer; Operations and Maintenance Parks & Infrastructure

Job Description Civil Engineer (O&M Parks & Infrastructure) Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra Region, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Engineer to join our team! In this role you will directly supervise the site civil works on Parks & Infrastructure projects.

• Oversee hardscape maintenance (walkways, pavers, curbs, shelters, pergolas).
• Inspect playground structures and park facilities.
• Prepare civil asset reports and coordinate repair approvals.
• Conduct hardscape audits across all DRM cities.
• Perform difficult and complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.
• Maintain first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within your discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.
• Supervise the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines.
• Ensure that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
• Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
• Ensure that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site‑specific safety procedures and industry standards.
• Establish and maintain liaison with the discipline design engineering staff. Review and interpret discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
• Provide resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinate application of solutions.
• Develop discipline construction schedules and monitor progress. Provide schedule and progress appraisal report to the Resident Engineer.
• Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline. Ensure that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
• Organize the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
• Initiate and maintain records, back‑charge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.
• Interface with the client and upper-level management.

• B.Sc. Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of O&M experiences (practical O&M experience).
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction‑related processes, as well as industry practices.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project.
• Registered as practicing engineer in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi or should have an equivalency certificate.
